No Deposit?

No Deposit? Where's the catch?

Haha, we thought this would surprise some of you. After all, it’s not every day that you come across a travel company that doesn’t try to get you to commit your money at the first opportunity.

Basically, the most important thing to us is not getting our hands on your money, but instead, ensuring that your money is used wisely, that the tour you book is right both for you and the rest of the group and that a vegan tour is the best choice for you.

Of course, we also don’t want you to lose out on your ideal tour choice, so we give our customers the opportunity to reserve their place without charge for up to 14 days. During this time, we’ll reach out to you for a quick, friendly chat or video meet to answer any questions you may have and to ensure you’ve been matched to the right trip.

We won’t even ask for any card details at this point. All we ask for is your email address and name so we can get in touch to arrange a chat. Your email address will not be used for any other reason.

When will I have to pay a deposit and how much is it?

In most cases, a deposit of 500 pounds or dollars per person will be payable once we’ve agreed your choice of tour, i.e. after our brief chat or meet. Balance payments are due 90 days prior to departure. Payment plans are available. Please let us know and we can give further details.

When is the final payment due?

Balance payments are due 90 days prior to departure. Payment plans are available. Please let us know and we can give further details.

In certain circumstances we can even arrange for some of the costs to be paid locally on arrival, though this may incur additional fees

General

Why don't you include all meals like some other vegan group tours do?

We like to give you more freedom and flexibility. By not including all meals, we aim to keeps costs realistic and it means you won’t pay for meals you don’t  need or want. It also means that you’re free to venture out on free days without the pressing need to return in time for Dinner.

Plus, it’s important to note that meals in Southeast Asia are pretty cheap, so it’s much better value for you.

Breakfast is always included and we do have a group meal every night with the trip leader, which is optional but always a lot of fun.

Are airport transfers included?

Arrival transfers are included to take the stress out of planning and arrival.

We will meet you at your arrival airport (must be the same as the tour starting point) and take you by private vehicle to the joining hotel.

We may combine two or more travellers into the same vehicle but only if they are arriving on the same flight and joining the same tour.

We don’t include departure transfers as we prefer to save you money. It’s really easy to grab a taxi or minivan from the departure hotel, or your tour leader will help you arrange something for no extra cost.

Are your tours suitable for solo travellers?

100% Yes! Our group tours are perfect for solo travellers looking to meet like-minded people. Many of our guests come alone and leave with new friends. We aim to create a friendly and welcoming vibe.

As a solo traveller you have the choice either to book a private room or we can allocate a shared twin room with a fellow traveller of the same gender. Additionally, you’ll find that people travelling on group tours are sociable and friendly by default.

What makes your tours vegan-friendly?

Our tours are all about visiting amazing countries and meeting incredible people while also enjoying the daily company of like-minded people to ensure your experiences are stress free and memorable for the right reasons.

We make sure all included meals are vegan, and by partnering with a number of local vegan-friendly restaurants we also ensure that you have plenty of  recommendations for where to eat when meals aren’t included.

Can non-vegans join the tours?

Absolutely! Everyone’s welcome, whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just curious about plant-based living. We love having a mix of folks on our trips.

Just a heads-up though, since this is a vegan trip, we ask that you don’t eat non-plant-based food around the group. Also, please remember that people are here to relax and enjoy themselves, so it’s not the time or place to debate vegan choices or ethics with fellow travellers. Let’s keep the vibe positive and supportive for everyone!

What is the group size for the tours?

We keep our groups small, usually between 8-15 people, to make sure everyone gets a personalised experience. It also helps us build a tight-knit community. We’ve found that once a group exceeds 15, small sub-groups start to form and the tour leaders have trouble maintaining group dynamics.

What is the average age range of participants?

What’s the average age of a vegan?

Exactly, it will vary. Basically, all ages are welcome, and we work hard to make everyone feel included.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

We love adventure as much as you do, but your health and safety are super important to us. That’s why we require you to have travel insurance when you book any of our tours or tailor-made holidays. At the very least, your insurance should cover US$50,000 for emergency medical expenses and US$200,000 for emergency medical evacuation/repatriation. If you’re using your home country’s currency, make sure it’s an equivalent amount.

We also highly recommend looking into extra coverage like personal liability, trip interruption, isolation costs if you test positive for Covid-19, and trip cancellation that includes Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) if it’s available where you live. Just a heads-up, this kind of coverage usually needs to be bought within 24 hours to 3 weeks of paying your deposit.

Do you provide flights?

All flights that form a part of the tour are full included with a luggage allowance of 15-20 kg (We advise packing lightly for all our tours)

We don’t provide flights to join and leave our tours as we prefer to allow our customers the freedom to choose their own routes, dates and class.

Of course if you need any help with recommendations or routes, we are happy to help.

Do I need visas?

Visa rules differ greatly between nationalities and can also change at short notice.

Therefore we strongly advise that you check with the Embassy in your own country with plenty of time to spare before you travel.

There are also a number of reputable online visa companies who will arrange a visa for you – for a fee of course  🙁

What kind of accommodation can I expect?

In line with our Vision and Mission, we always prefer to use smaller hotels and we always aim for at least a 4-Star standard.

As you can imagine, strictly vegan hotels are not very common in most of Asia, but when available and the standards are good enough, we will lean towards them.

Where vegan hotels are not available, we scout out only the best hotels and restaurants that we love and think you will too. We work closely with them to make sure they really understand the needs of a vegan group, and create a balanced, delicious, and varied menu of foods and drinks.

While we do our very best to avoid it, cross-contamination in a non-vegan hotel or restaurant is always a possibility, and we should all be aware of this when travelling to other countries.

Food & Diet

Why don't you include all meals like some other vegan group tours do?

We like to give you more freedom and flexibility. By not including all meals, we aim to keeps costs realistic and it means you won’t pay for meals you don’t  need or want. It also means that you’re free to venture out on free days without the pressing need to return in time for Dinner.

Plus, it’s important to note that meals in Southeast Asia are pretty cheap, so it’s much better value for you.

Breakfast is always included and we do have a group meal every night with the trip leader, which is optional but always a lot of fun.

How do you ensure the food is vegan?

We carefully choose restaurants and food vendors who know their vegan stuff. Our local partners are great with vegan cuisine, and we make sure they understand our dietary needs. Our guides and leaders are also there to help with any questions.

Do you accommodate other dietary restrictions?

Yes, we try our best to accommodate other dietary needs like gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free diets. Just let us know your requirements when you book, and we’ll take care of it.

Activities and Itineraries

What types of activities are included in the tours?

Our tours are packed with fun and interesting activities like cooking classes, cultural tours, local homestays, city tours and foodie trips. We decided not to focus the entire trip solely on a vegan lifestyle but to instead explore and enjoy the countries we visit, while ensuring that all our experiences align with our vegan and vegetarian values.

How physically demanding are the tours?

We’ve purposely kept things on the low exertion level so that everyone can enjoy the trip. Should anyone have mobility issues, we will do our best to arrange alternate transport, although this may incur additional costs.
